Film tiers

Why ceramic is the only tier we recommend for Florida.

Window film is sold across four tiers. The difference between the top and the bottom isn’t shade — it’s how the film handles infrared radiation, signal interference, and color stability over a Florida lifetime.

  • Dyed film: organic dye that fades, bubbles, and purples in 1–2 Florida summers. Adds shade but almost no real heat rejection.
  • Hybrid film: dye + metal layer. Better than dyed, but the metals interfere with cell, GPS, and toll-tag signals.
  • Carbon film: stable color, modest IR rejection. A solid mid-tier choice on a budget build.
  • True ceramic: inorganic ceramic nano-particles. Maximum IR rejection, signal-transparent, optically clear, color-stable for life.
Benefits

What ceramic actually does that other films can’t.

  • Up to 70% total solar energy rejection on side glass
  • 99% UV-A and UV-B blocking — SPF on every drive
  • Infrared rejection that drops cabin temp on the first 95° afternoon
  • Signal-transparent — safe for cell, GPS, toll-tags, ADAS, Autopilot
  • Optically clear at every shade, including 5% rear blackout
  • Color-stable for life — no purpling, no fading
Who this is for

Daily commuters, EV owners, and design-conscious enthusiasts.

Ceramic is the right call any time you actually feel Florida sun. The cars that benefit the most:

  • EVs / Teslas — ceramic windshield + side glass meaningfully reduces pre-cool battery drain and protects the synthetic interior.
  • Long commuters — anyone running 30+ minutes of I-4, the 408, or the 417 daily.
  • Luxury vehicles — Porsche, BMW M, Audi RS, Mercedes-AMG, Range Rover — ceramic is the only tier worthy of the glass.
  • Family vehicles — three-row SUVs and minivans where rear-cabin temperature is a real comfort issue.
  • Concours and weekend builds — color-stable, no purpling, photographs perfectly years out.

FAQ

Ceramic tint, answered plainly.

What makes a film “true ceramic” vs marketing fluff?+
True ceramic films use inorganic ceramic nano-particles distributed across multiple internal layers. They reject infrared radiation (the heat you feel) regardless of shade, stay color-stable for life, and are signal-transparent. We only carry premium ceramic — no rebranded dyed film labelled “ceramic-enhanced.”
How much heat does ceramic actually reject?+
Top-tier ceramic rejects up to 70% of Total Solar Energy on side glass and over 95% of infrared. In real terms: a 95° afternoon cabin pre-cools in roughly half the time, and the steering wheel is touchable when you get in.
Will ceramic interfere with my cell signal, GPS, or toll tag?+
No. Ceramic is non-metallic, so it does not block radio frequencies. Cell, GPS, toll-tags, AM/FM, satellite radio, and ADAS sensors all work normally.
Is ceramic worth it on a daily-driver Camry or Civic?+
In Florida, yes. The heat rejection difference between a $300 dyed install and a $700 ceramic install is enormous — and ceramic is the only tier that won’t need replacing in 2–3 years. The lifetime warranty is included.
Can I get ceramic on my windshield?+
Yes. We install a clear ceramic windshield film at 70–80% VLT (legal, looks essentially clear). It rejects the bulk of the heat and UV from the largest sun-facing pane on the car — the comfort gain is dramatic. Tesla-safe and ADAS-compatible.
How long is a ceramic install in Orlando?+
Most sedans 2–3 hours, full-size SUVs and Teslas 3–4. Drop off in the morning, pick up before the I-4 afternoon traffic.
Will I see a difference next to a dyed tint job at the same shade?+
Yes. From the outside, they can look similar. From the driver’s seat in Florida sun, ceramic is a different category — cooler skin, cooler steering wheel, no glare. And in 2 years when the dyed job is purple, the ceramic still looks like the day it was installed.
