Why specifically ceramic for a Tesla — not carbon or hybrid?+
Tesla glass carries a lot of signal traffic — Autopilot cameras, Sentry recording, B-pillar antennas, Supercharging app, GPS, cell. Ceramic is non-metallic and signal-transparent. Hybrid films use metal layers that can attenuate signal. We don’t install hybrid on Teslas.
Does ceramic actually help Tesla range?+
Indirectly, yes. Florida sun hitting an un-tinted glass roof and windshield warms the cabin meaningfully. The AC works harder to pre-cool, and pre-cool is a real range cost on hot days. Reducing the radiant load with ceramic side, windshield, and (optional) glass-roof film cuts that load.
Will ceramic block my phone, GPS, or toll tag in a Tesla?+
No. Ceramic uses inorganic nano-particles, not metal. Cell, GPS, AM/FM, toll-tags, satellite, and ADAS sensors all work normally.
Is the clear ceramic windshield film really effective — it looks clear?+
Yes. Clear ceramic windshield film runs at roughly 70–80% VLT (essentially clear, fully Florida-legal) but rejects the bulk of the infrared. The comfort gain on a hot afternoon is dramatic, especially on Model 3 and Model Y where the windshield is steeply raked.
How is ceramic priced vs dyed or carbon on a Tesla?+
Ceramic is more — sometimes 2–2.5x the cost of dyed. But it’s a one-time, lifetime install on a premium vehicle. The math works in Florida: dyed film often needs replacing within 2–3 years, and that’s before you account for purpling on the glass of a $50k–$100k car.
Will tinting void my Tesla factory warranty?+
